Fortunate to be invited to be on set at Hippocrates Institute.

Starting in 1956, the year the Hippocrates Health Institute was founded by Ann Wigmore (later joined by Viktoras Kulvinskas), we have operated on the belief that given the proper tools and environment, our bodies are self-healing and self-rejuvenating.  That was a philosophy practiced by Hippocrates himself and passed down to us today.

As a fifth-century BC Greek physician, Hippocrates treated the body as a whole, not just a series of parts, and taught a natural healing process centered on a wholesome, natural diet. He developed an oath of medical ethics that physicians today still repeat as they begin their careers in medicine. An important part of that original oath, written in 400 BC, reads: “I will give no deadly medicine to anyone.”

The Hippocrates Health Institute is concerned that this admonition seems to have been disregarded by much of modern medicine as physicians blindly and reflexively embrace the marketing campaign of every new pharmaceutical drug coming off industry assembly lines. They usually decide what to prescribe based on the “education” they received from the marketing representatives for the drug companies.

Below is a chart of just some of the hundreds of Cannabinoids. Only when they are altogether, your product can be called Full Spectrum (not Isolate).

Cannabidiol (CBD)

This is just one of hundreds of cannabinoids that have been identified in the cannabis plant. CBD is becoming increasingly popular among the masses for having a wide scope of benefits – due to clinical reports and test data showing little to no side effects and a lack of psychoactivity (typically associated with marijuana products and high THC).

Difference between Marijuana and Hemp

Although derived from cannabis plants, but industrial hemp can't be more than 0.3% THC to be legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. This means that hemp-derived THC, which is rarely psychoactive, is legal all across the country regardless of whether or not marijuana is legal in a certain state.

Difference between CBD and THC

If you didn’t already know — CBD and THC have the exact same chemical makeup: 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms, and 2 oxygen atoms.

The two are nearly identical twins.

What differentiates the two compounds, however, is the arrangement of a single atom, which you can observe in the illustration below. An atom is about a million times smaller than a human hair.

The Endocannabinoid System

CBD or cannabidiol is the main active compound in hemp, and unlike THC, it is not psychoactive, so it doesn't make people "high". Inside the human body there's something called the endocannabinoid system, with receptors spread throughout the brain and body. When these receptors are activated, they enable two-way communication between body systems. Interacting with both nervous and immune system brings pain relief and reduces anxiety.

There are approximately 85 know cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, the most prominent of which is Tetrahydrocannadinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). A cannabinoid is a compound that interacts directly with our body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which in short, is a network of receptors that interact with cannabinoids to maintain vital functions throughout our body.

Scientists discovered the first cannabinoid receptor in 1988, and by 1993, they had identified a second receptor. In 1995, the two receptors were classified as the CB1 and CB2 receptors.

CB1 receptors are found abundantly in regions of the brain responsible for mental and physiological processes such as memory, high cognition, emotion, and motor coordination, while CB2 receptors are found throughout the central nervous and immune systems.

The interaction between the CB1 and CB2 receptors with cannabinoids like CBD and THC is the catalyst for health benefits such as pain relief, anxiety relief, appetite stimulation, mood management and more.

Now this is where the different positions of that tiny atom come into play.

Because THC and CBD have different molecular structures, they do not interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the same manner. This greatly differentiates the effects each has on the body, which is likely the biggest concern when comparing CBD to THC.

How does CBD and THC affect Your Body

While CBD and THC both bind to the CB2 receptor, they interact with the CB1 receptors in different ways.

Because of its molecular structure, THC is able to bind directly with CB1 receptors. When this bond is formed, the reaction creates signals that are sent to the brain, which results in the psychoactive effects of “getting high.”

In stark contrast, research shows that CBD does not bond directly with the CB1 receptor, and its presence can even negate the bond between THC and the CB1 receptors, effectively neutralizing the psychoactive effects induced by THC.

While THC certainly offers tremendous health benefits, its mind-altering effects are not always desired. CBD, on the other hand, can deliver many of the same benefits of THC without inducing its psychoactive effects.

The Legality Explained

Because of its ability to induce mind-altering effects on the user, THC has been classified as an illegal substance in most countries around the world, including the United States.

While CBD is still in the gray area of the law due to unclear laws and its close relationship with THC, it is much safer to use from a legal perspective.

Under the Farm Bill, CBD derived from hemp is federally legal. While that was a federal law, it does not legalize CBD derived from marijuana, and it did not overrule state law. Because states could determine their own laws pertaining to CBD, and the distinction between hemp and marijuana was still unclear to many, the legality of CBD from state to state had become very confusing.  With the passage of the Farm Bill of 2018, the legality of CBD has been clarified once and for all.

The History of Hemp

Hemp has a very vast history that cannot go unnoticed. We are very excited to be at the forefront of what we believe is one of the most valuable commodities.

Every major civilization in history has recognized hemp as #1 on its list of important plants. The ancient Chinese, Indians, Egyptians, Assyrians, Persians, Greeks and Romans all revered hemp. Now modern science is validating what the ancients all knew - and uncovering exciting new discoveries about hemp.

Hemp History Facts:

First American Flag was made from Hemp

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew Hemp

Ben Franklin made Hemp paper

The Declaration of Independence was drafted on Hemp

Hemp was used as rope for ships, and it was a required crop in the American colonies

Cannabis Industry:

Forbes Magazine has stated that the CBD market will become the next billion dollar industry, growing by more than 700% in just the next couple of years. The Cannabis industry is projected to be at $50 billion by 2026.

There are over 23,000 studies that show the benefits of cannabis. It's backed by an enormous body of scientific research, enthusiastic public opinion and more progressive cannabis laws, which are giving cannabis reputation it deserves as a groundbreaking health solution.

How Hemp Boca CBD Products Work

At Hemp Boca, our CBD products utilize the full spectrum Cannabis plant mixed with Hemp Seed oil. Not all hemp is created equal. Our Hemp/CBD Oil is processed through Co2 extraction and full panel screening to give you the purest oils. No GMO, Solvents, Pesticides and Metals, using only organic ingredients.

All our products are manufactured in the USA in a registered GMP, (Good Manufacturing Practices) cruelty-free facility.

That means we use only the best, highest quality, purest Organic Hemp and we don't use any high heat processing that reduces the potency of the oil.

Which means there is NO testing on animals in our facility, that's a big issue - especially in the skin care industry.

Our Hemp/CBD Oil is a combination of both the CBD Isolate (or Extract) along with the Full Spectrum Whole Plant Hemp Oil.

This gives us a much higher potency of Oil while maintaining over 80 other cannabinoids, all of which have additional healing benefits.

There are actually more than 400 phytonutrients that exist in hemp plants. Our extraction technology allows us to extract all of these nutrients, without using any heat or harmful solvents. The result is a natural extract with exceptional nutritional and healing properties. With Hemp Boca Hemp/CBD products, you are getting the highest quality, purest oil, plus over 400 other nutrients, in a naturally synergistic, easy-to-use and easy-to-absorb form.

Hemp Boca is committed to bringing our customers the highest-grade organic CBD oil on the market. Our CBD oil is derived from hemp (cannabis sativa) plants and is legal in all 50 states. Here are a few of many reasons why Hemp Boca is becoming the world’s premier choice for CBD products:

Full Spectrum Extract
We are one of the only CBD suppliers in the world that offers a true full spectrum cannabinoid extract. We have compared the effectiveness of a completely purified CBD extract versus a full-spectrum extract of cannabis flowers containing large quantities of CBD. The conclusion of the study was that the whole plant extract, which contained a large percentage of CBD but also contained traces of the other cannabinoids, proved far more effective than CBD-only solutions in alleviating inflammation and pain sensation.

Organic and Natural
Our cannabis oil is 100% organic and non-GMO. It is free of additives, preservatives, emulsifiers, and artificial flavors so the product remains in its most pure and natural form.

Third-Party Verified
Every bottle of cannabis oil we provide to our customers has been subjected to rigorous laboratory testing to ensure that it contains the optimal amount of CBD and is free of pesticides, heavy metals, and mycotoxins.

Green Extraction Methods
We utilize CO2 extraction methods so there is no heat to degrade the product and there are no solvents to pollute it. CO2 extraction retains the entire spectrum of cannabinoids as well as terpenes, essential oils, vitamins like B and D, trace minerals like zinc, and omega fatty acids (mainly 3 and 6) which all work together to maximize the healing effect.

USA Grown
Our extracts are derived from therapeutic hemp (cannabis sativa) plants grown on licensed farms in Colorado, Kentucky, Oregon.

What’s the Best CBD  Dosage?

If you were to surf the web for the appropriate dosage you will find many opinions on this subject. We find a subjective approach is the answer, taking into account your weight, pain level (if appropriate), desired effect, etc.. Hopefully this simple chart we put together is helpful.

While there are tons of articles about the benefits of CBD, there are few about properly dosing CBD. To make things more confusing, unlike with other supplements, the FDA has not created a Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) for CBD, which means, CBD does not have an official serving size. Because of this, consumers are blindly estimating their dosages based on recommendations from brands and companies they buy their CBD from. Or even worse… friends who are uncertified and claim to be “experts” simply because they use CBD.

“Take one dropper of CBD per day,” is one of the most common dosage recommendations we hear. While this can definitely be a dosage, there’s no way to tell if its the right dosage for the given individual as it doesn’t take into account important factors such as:
  • The concentration of CBD
  • The weight of the individual
  • The individual’s body chemistry
  • The severity of the condition being treated
With that being said, there isn’t a “one size fits all” dosage, and there will be some trial and error while gauging your proper dosage.
Neuroscientist Nick Jikomes over at Leafly, explains that, as our body’s physiology changes, so do the receptors in our Endocannabinoid System(ECS), which are directly responsible for interactions with CBD. As a result, optimal CBD dosages will shift throughout an individual’s lifetime.
In other words, there isn’t necessarily a universal CBD dosage…
So how much CBD should you take then? Use these 3 simple tips to find out:
How to Choose Your CBD Dosage

1. Estimate your dosage based on your body weight

As with most substances, individuals with more body mass will require more CBD to experience its effects. With that being said, a good rule of thumb to determine your proper CBD dosage is to take 1–6MG of CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight based on the individual’s level of pain.

It is important to first determine your initial dosage based on your weight, gauge how your body reacted to that amount of CBD, then increase gradually while continuing to monitor your body’s reactions till you find the perfect dosage that works for your situation.

2. Consult your physician

When in doubt, consult your physician, especially if you have an existing medical condition. While there aren’t a ton of doctors who have experience with CBD, most doctors should have a good idea on how your body will react to CBD and can provide you a professional CBD dosage for your situation.

So, now that you know how much CBD you should take, we face another important question:
How do you accurately measure your CBD dosage?
How much CBD is there in a single puff off your vaporizer, how much CBD is in a dropper from your CBD tincture?
Without understanding how to properly measure your dosage, knowing how much CBD you should take is pretty much pointless. Especially when it comes to all the different ways to consume CBD

How to consume Your CBD Tincture Dosage

Using a CBD tincture is one of the easiest ways to consume CBD. Simply fill the dropper, administer the oil under your tongue, then hold it there for 30 to 90 seconds before swallowing.

But, how many drops of CBD oil should you take? With some simple mathematics, we can easily figure that out.

Being that the dropper is the tool we use to administer a CBD tincture, we need to find out how much CBD is in a single dropper. Once you know this, you can gauge how much CBD you’re taking.

So how do you figure out how much CBD is in a dropper?
Typically a dropper holds 1 ML of liquid. If you know how many milliliters are in a CBD tincture, you can use this simple formula to determine how much CBD is in its dropper:
[Total CBD in Bottle] ÷ [Number of Milliliters in Bottle] = MGs of CBD in a Dropper
For example, let’s say you have a 30ml CBD tincture that has 1500MG of CBD:
1500 ÷ 30 = 50MG of CBD per dropper

Now, if you’re proper dosage of CBD is 25MG, and a single dropper of that 1500MG tincture contains 50MG, you’d simply fill the dropper halfway.
Of course, this method isn’t 100% accurate, but it is more accurate than not measuring at all. Remember, start with a small dosage and gradually increase until you find your perfect dosage.

The hemp industry continues to evolve and Hemp Boca will continue to innovate in order to better serve our customers.

What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol,  is an extract from hemp, a commonly used term for strains of the cannabis sativa plant with very low levels of THC. Hemp is used in a wide range of products in the United States and globally.

Co2 Extraction

Is a process that uses pressurized carbon dioxide to pull the desired phytochemicals (such as hemp) from a plant. Co2 at certain temperatures and pressures acts like a solvent, without the dangers of actually being one. It is the most expensive extraction method, and is widely considered the most effective and safest plant extraction method in the world. One of many reason it’s important for Hemp Boca to educate and raise awareness to consumers about our products.
Co2 extraction has been the method of extraction for the food and herbal supplement industries. Co2 is a common food additive as well.
We may often hear about super-critical Co2 extractions, but that’s actually only one method of Co2 extraction. There’s Sub-critical Co2 Extractions, and ‘mid-critical’ extractions, a general range between Sub-critical and Super-critical.
At Hemp Boca, we use Sub-critical (low temp, low pressure) Co2 extractions. It does take more time and produce much smaller quantities than Super-critical, but they retain the essential oils, terpenes, and other sensitive chemicals within the plant. Super-critical, is a high pressure and high temperature process that damages most terpenes and heat sensitive chemicals, but can extract much larger molecules such as lipids (omega 3 and 6), chlorophyll, and waxes.
Highly recommended Full-Spectrum Co2 Hemp Extracts include first performing a Sub-critical Extraction, separating the extracted oil, then extracting the same plant material using super-critical pressure, and finally homogenizing both oil extracts into one.
In the essential oil industry, an extract made using this specific process is referred to as a Co2 Total Extract. Our exclusive use of whole-plant, full-spectrum Co2 total extracts enhances the Hemp Boca CBD Oil Entourage Effect.

Full Panel Screening

At Hemp Boca, we have very high-standards regarding the quality, purity and potency of each product we create. The state-of-the-art laboratory we use, applies a High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to measure CBD levels, as close to a milligram, in every batch. Then, to make sure this process runs correctly, the batch is transferred to a third-party laboratory to validate the results. This is a very crucial step because we make sure there are no pesticides, fungicides, plant growth regulators, residual solvents and any microbiological contamination. Finally, a separate lab test is performed to make sure there is no heavy metal contamination in either the raw materials or the finished products.
In summary, you as a consumer are in control of your destiny. Wouldn’t you feel better knowing what you consume in your body is purified, all natural, no pesticides, no GMO, no additives or preservatives just as nature intended. Us, at Hemp Boca, are very proud to stand behind our products and committed to continue educating consumers.

Is CBD Legal

CBD is completely legal in all 50 states. The FDA considers hemp and hemp-derived extracts to be food-based products. As such, there are no legal restrictions on their importation, production, sale or consumption in the United States, as well as most of the industrialized world. Hemp oil is legal in over 40 countries around the world. Hemp oil is consumed by millions of people around the world, and this number is rapidly rising as an increasing number of studies explore its many potential health benefits.

Is it like Marajuana

Often, hemp is considered the same as marijuana, as hemp oil for pain can reduce pain quickly. However, these are two types of cannabis that are different from each other in terms of chemical properties, cultivation process, usage and other traits. Hemp is mainly cultivated for producing natural hemp oil for pain, fabrics, food, rope and other items. Marijuana contains high levels—up to 20 percent—of the psychoactive ingredient THC, whereas hemp contains less than 0.3 percent.

Will I get high from CBD

This is the most common question people ask about CBD or hemp oil for pain. CBD does not contain any psychoactive component that is associated with marijuana or similar products. Therefore, there is no chance of feeling intoxicated by using this oil. Industrial hemp may have a maximum of 0.3 percent THC to produce 99 percent pure CBD.

Is CBD safe

The reputed companies make high-quality CBD products that reach the market after consistent testing. The core product, hemp, is grown with precaution in a natural way, avoiding all pesticides and chemicals. Both CBD and hemp are safe to be used, as they typically do not cause any side effects. However, you should always use a CBD product only after consulting a physician.

What conditions can it help

Recent scientific research shows that CBD oil can treat and cure many diseases. Many testimonials have proven that CBD is helpful in curing anxiety, asthma, epilepsy, inflammation, insomnia, bipolar disorder, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic pain and many more.

Will it be exposed in a drug test

Most CBD products contain no or very little THC. Therefore, a person under the treatment of CBD products will generally not be exposed in a drug test.

Difference between CBD and THC

CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are similar in that they’re both cannabinoids that interact with the cannabinoid receptors of the endocannabinoid system. However, their similarities just about stop there. THC is the cannabinoid that directly activates that CB1 receptor to elicit a euphoric side effect. CBD, on the other hand, is considered an indirect antagonist of the CB1 receptor because it blocks it from linking with other compounds. Not only is CBD non-psychoactive itself, but also it counteracts the euphoric effects of CB1 agonists like THC.
The two compounds aren’t opponents, however. While THC directly activates the cannabinoid receptors and CBD indirectly interacts with them, together, along with other cannabinoids and natural constituents found in pure hemp oil, they work together in what’s referred to as the “entourage effect” to provide therapeutic effects.

When was THC discovered

By most accounts, THC was first discovered in Israel in 1964 by Dr. Raphael Mechoulam – aka the father of modern cannabis. His discovery of THC paved the way for later discoveries, and also earned him numerous honors, including a NIDA Discovery Award in 2011.

How is THC produced

Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is produced by the cannabis plant in the form of a carboxylic acid (commonly called THCA). This acidic form of THC is non-psychoactive, which means that fresh, raw cannabis does NOT deliver a high. When heated (decarboxylated), though, THCA transforms into THC, giving it its psychoactive effects.

Is the quality of THC the same in Marajuana

Not quite. It might seem like THC is THC, but the fact is that each strain has the potential to produce radically different amounts of THCA. The decarboxylation process also plays an important role in the final THC product, as excessive heat can cycle THC into a more thermally stable form (delta-8-THC), which is commonly found in poorly-made cannabis extractions.

How long does THC stay in your body

THC is a “clinger” to fatty tissues; the tissues quickly absorb the chemical when consumed, and then release it slowly back into the blood. In general, standard urine tests can detect traces of THC in your system up to one month after use, though THC metabolites have been detected in hair samples over 90 days after consumption.

Are urine tests accurate when taking drug test

The major problem with THC urine tests is that it doesn’t really test for THC, but a different chemical called THC-COOH – a metabolite that is produced when the liver breaks down THC (THC-COOH is actually the chemical that stays in your system and appears on different drug tests).

Can THC Effect my baby

Research indicates that the use of marijuana by a mother during the first month of breastfeeding can impair the infant’s motor development. Research also shows more anger and more regressive behavior (thumb sucking, temper tantrums) in toddlers whose parents use marijuana as opposed to those who do not. In other words, it is certainly not advised to consume marijuana while pregnant.

Is THC the same as CBD

Absolutely not. THC is the primary psychoactive compound in marijuana – the compound that produces the “high” effect. CBD is the “second most” talked about cannabinoid in marijuana, but unlike its cousin, it is entirely non-psychoactive (i.e. it does NOT produce a high). Furthermore, CBD is known to actually reduce or counter the psychoactive effects of THC.

What are the benefits of THC
